Lipan, TX (July 11, 2020) — Two people were killed Friday night after a driver failed to yield to right-of-way traffic. The accident happened around 6:20 p.m. at the intersection of US 281 and Farm-to-Market Road 4 in the town of Lipan.

The Texas Department of Public Safety states that 19-year-old Tyler Colvin was heading east on Farm-to-Market Road 4 in his 2016 Toyota Corolla when he didn’t yield to a 2016 GMC 3500 heading north on US 281. The pickup truck hit the Corolla on the passenger side.

Colvin was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. His passenger, 20-year-old Rebekah Wendt, was flown to a hospital in Fort Worth where she later died from her injuries.
