New Orleans, LA (July 31, 2020) — New Orleans Police have confirmed that a 68-year-old pedestrian was killed Friday night while trying to cross the street. The accident happened at 7:40 p.m. on Chef Menteur Highway at Cerise Avenue.

According to investigators, the man was trying to cross the street when he was hit by a white Chevrolet truck driving west on the highway. He died at the scene of the accident.

The identity of the victim is still unknown. Police are still investigating the accident and are awaiting blood and alcohol test results.
