New Orleans, LA (April 1, 2020) — An accident in New Orleans East on Wednesday afternoon has left one dead and another injured.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. at the intersection of Chef Menteur Highway and Alcee Fortier Blvd.

The New Orleans Police Department says that a silver Buick went over the median and hit a gray pickup truck. This collision caused the Buick to flip over.

The driver of the Buick, whose identity remains unknown, died at the scene of the accident. Emergency services rushed the driver of the pickup truck to the hospital. Their condition is unknown.

The crash is still under investigation by the New Orleans Police Department.
