Baton Rouge, LA (May 26, 2020) — A crash in Baton Rouge on Tuesday morning left one man dead after his vehicle hit a billboard. The accident happened around 6:34 a.m. at the 4800 block of Hooper Road near the Baton Rouge Metro Airport.

According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, 30-year-old Scott Leroy was driving on Hooper Road in his 2015 Chevrolet Traverse when he failed to navigate a curve in the road. Leroy then struck the pole of billboard on the side of the road. BRPD spokesman Sgt. Don Coppola Jr. says that Leroy was pronounced dead at the scene.
