New Orleans, LA (May 24, 2020) One person died and three others were injured after a single-car accident in Avondale. The crash happened Saturday night around 10:30 p.m. at the 300 block of Pat Drive.

According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, a Chevrolet Trailblazer with four occupants hit a parked vehicle and then ran into a tree. When deputies arrived on the scene, one of the passengers, 15-year-old Khalil Washington, was pronounced dead. Emergency responders rushed the 17-year-old driver and two other injured occupants to the hospital to be treated.

The JPSO is still investigating the cause of the crash. No additional information about the driver or other passengers has been released at this time.
