Baton Rouge, LA (April 29, 2020) Police shut down I-10 early Wednesday morning after a pileup involving an 18-wheeler. The accident occurred around 5:45 a.m. on I-10 East just past the Highland Road exit 166. Several people sustained injuries.

According to Louisiana State Police spokesperson Taylor Scrantz, seven vehicles were involved in the crash. An 18-wheeler was also involved and crushed another vehicle. However, only minor injuries were reported in the incident.

At this time, the Louisiana State Police are still investigating the cause of the accident. Investigators reopened the interstate around 10:00 a.m. Wednesday morning after they cleared the wreckage.
