Houston, TX (February 11, 2020) — Three traffic incidents across the Houston metro area have left three people dead.
The first accident occurred around 8:11 p.m. Monday night in the northwest part of Harris County. Two passing vehicles struck a man who ran out of the woods and tried crossing FM 1960 near Mills Road. The first driver immediately stopped and called 911. The second driver is cooperating with investigators.
First responders pronounced the man dead at the scene.
The second accident happened at about 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning in Needville. A man in his 60s, identified as Marcos Urbina-Sevilla, was driving east on FM 442 at Dipple Lehman Road. He crashed into a tree on the side of the road.
Urbina-Sevilla was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators in Fort Bend County are still investigating the cause of the accident.
The third crash occurred in Huffman at 1:30 a.m. on FM 2100 near Guy Road. A 36-year-old man was driving his pickup truck south on FM 2100. He lost control of the vehicle and veered off of the roadway.
The truck hit a ditch and a fence before flipping several times, ejecting the driver. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident and died at the scene. Investigators believe that impairment might be a major factor in the crash.
